Then there was Lineage Eternal, which was the planned true sequel to Lineage 1. This game has not been released in NA/EU, but it's still relatively new, so it could happen. This game was briefly NCSoft's top-grossing game, but it has since been overtaken by Lineage M. Lineage 2M (2019 Mobile): A sequel to Lineage M, although it is more similar to Lineage II visually and gameplay-wise. This game was never officially released in NA/EU to my knowledge, although NCSoft had plans at one time to release in those regions.

It is also playable on PC through NCSoft's Purple emulator. They each feature the same gameplay, but each game has several classes and other content not available to the other. It and Lineage Remastered took divergent development paths. It resembles the pre-Remastered version of Lineage 1. Lineage M (2017 Mobile): This is the mobile version of Lineage: The Blood Pledge, and NCSoft's most successful game currently. It shares a visual style as well as a number of other elements with Lineage II. This game was developed by Netmarble and NOT NCSoft however. Lineage II Revolution (2016 Mobile): A mobile MMO that was very successful in most regions at launch. This game was never released in NA/EU to my knowledge. Lineage Red Knights (2016 Mobile): This is a chibi-styled game that takes place in the Lineage world. This version of the game servers is still being developed in most regions, and the original game servers have been deemphasized. It also has a classic server option as well as the newer Essence/Aden server option which is a reboot of sorts to the game. Lineage II (2003 PC): The prequel which was more successful in North America and other regions and is still in operation.
This game closed in North America around 2010, but remains popular in Korea and is currently NCSoft's top-grossing PC game. Lineage: The Blood Pledge (1998 PC): Now known as Lineage Remastered. Not saying anyone should trust them at all, but given the P2W is actively hurting their business I think there is some possibility for them to actually put out a good Lineage game for the first time since 2. It's not enough to fix the games in my eyes, but it's still nice I guess. They've also announced the removal of some P2W features from Lineage M and 2M.

How much free players will enjoy it is questionable, but it might make trying out the game a better experienced. They also said they wanted to make it so free players can actually enjoy the game and players that do spend money aren't pushed to spend too much. In the second showcase they announced the only planned BMs are the transformations/magic dolls, which you can get as drops without paying, and some basic consumables which may or may not be an issue. Their investors' are freaking out about all the money they're losing and demanding they make the players happy.īecause of all this there are some major changes they are making to existing and future games. South Korean Lineage fans/players are brigading all of their videos and spreading awareness of NCSOFT's disgusting business practices. NCSOFT is in a lot of hot water recently.
